Electric drive accelerates China's pure electric vehicles to overcome technical difficulties

He told reporters that with the dual support of national policies and funds, they began to develop pure electric buses from the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" period, and that the pure electric buses developed by them during the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period have been demonstrated in Beijing. During the Five-Year period, it also undertook the research and development project of the National 863 Program pure electric bus power system technology platform. Now, the pure electric bus they developed has been on the national electric car product announcement, and the battery used has passed the test of the authority designated by the state.
China has always attached great importance to the development of clean and efficient automotive technology. Since 2001, the state has launched the 863 program electric vehicle major project, involving three types of electric vehicles: pure electric electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles. Lin Cheng pointed out that pure electric vehicle technology is the basis of other electric vehicle technology. Therefore, solving the technical difficulties of pure electric vehicles is also the key content of developing two other electric vehicles.
Pure electric vehicle advantage highlights
Oil-driven vehicles emit a large amount of atmospheric pollutants such as carbon, nitrogen, sulfur oxides, hydrocarbons, and lead compounds every day. They are important sources of atmospheric pollution and cause serious harm to human health and the ecological environment.
Without the environment, there is no future for the automotive industry. People in the industry agree that energy conservation and emission reduction are the eternal theme of the development of the automotive industry. At the just-concluded National "Two Sessions", NPC deputies and CPPCC members proposed that we must increase the development and promotion of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly vehicles, and introduce more and stronger incentives to support this industry.
Yang Yusheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, believes that among the many technical solutions studied by the state, electric vehicles have become the most competitive technology because of their high efficiency, energy-independent fuel, and zero emissions at the place of use. Compared with the three types of electric vehicles, the advantages of pure electric vehicles are more obvious. Pure electric vehicles use electric motors instead of fuel engines, with low noise and no pollution. The space and weight of electric motors, oil materials and transmission systems can be used to compensate for the demand of batteries. At the same time, due to the use of a single electric energy source, the electronic control system is compared with hybrid electric vehicles. Greatly simplified, it reduces costs and compensates for part of the price of the battery. Moreover, the battery of a pure electric vehicle can be charged at night by using the cheap "valley" of the power grid to stabilize the peak-to-valley difference of the power grid. For the user, using the time-priced cheap "Gudian", as long as the 2-3 yuan electricity bill can save 50 yuan of fuel. In short, pure electric vehicles are of great interest to the country, the power grid, the environment, and the users.
Pure electric vehicles also have obvious advantages in technology. "The three types of electric vehicles have some common and key technologies, but the technology of pure electric vehicles is easier to implement and is the basic technology of electric vehicles." Lin Cheng pointed out that this is one of the main reasons he is optimistic about pure electric vehicles.
China's pure electric vehicle technology is maturing
Throughout the development of pure electric vehicles, it has been nearly 100 years old. In the early 1980s, pure electric vehicles were highly sought after by many foreign automakers, and GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda and other automakers have developed their own pure electric vehicle products. However, the most prominent problem faced by pure electric vehicles at that time was battery technology. The battery life, characteristics and capacity all limited the performance of the vehicle, and it also became a bottleneck restricting the further development of pure electric vehicle technology.
"Now, with the increase in research and development of pure electric vehicles in China, China's pure electric vehicles are already very mature in technology." Lin Cheng said that since 1994, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission have invested a total of 100 million. Diversified, as the research and development expenses of the Beijing pure electric bus team led by Beijing Institute of Technology. After more than 10 years of research, the difficulties in pure electric vehicle technology have been overcome. Taking the core problem battery of pure electric vehicle technology as an example, the pure electric vehicle developed by Beijing Institute of Technology used to use lead-acid batteries, with a long driving range and short service life. After research and development, it is now using green lithium batteries. Lithium batteries and lead-acid batteries are different. They do not contain heavy metals and will not pollute the water source. And lithium batteries can reach a very high energy storage level, 2-3 times higher than lead-acid batteries.
